1.2 WALMART global procurement

In February 2002, Wal-Mart Department Store Group Corporation established Wal-Mart Global Procurement to facilitate the management of the company’s direct import business and direct purchases from factories. Wal-Mart Global Procurement is mainly responsible for identifying new suppliers, discovering new products, and establishing good cooperative relations with existing suppliers to make Wal-Mart’s direct import supply chain operate better. Global Procurement purchases products in more than 70 different countries around the world, and more than 1,400 employees work in 27 companies in 23 different countries.

Factory inspection requirements

1. Completion acceptance and fire protection acceptance

The completion acceptance report of the entire factory (dormitory, office, production, warehouse). Buildings before 1998 have not yet implemented fire protection acceptance, but the construction completion acceptance, planning permit, and engineer’s certificate of validity must be provided, one of the three is sufficient;

2. There are different factories in the same building

The fire acceptance report and drill records of the same building, and the fire fighting hardware of the same building in the BSCI factory inspection also meets the fire protection standards;

3. Emergency exit setting

It should not be set on the same side wall, preferably on the opposite side wall or at both ends of the building. If it must be set on the same side wall, the separation distance is ≥50% of the longer diagonal of the plane of the area;

4. Security exit

The evacuation distance from any point in the building to the emergency exit should meet the larger distance calculated along the walking passage below. If these restrictions cannot be met, consideration should be given to setting up more outlets and/or rearranging the outlet configuration. The configuration scheme of the safety exit is as follows:

Production workshop: 76 meters with spray and 61 meters without spray

5. Fire doors

Install automatic closers, do not install locks and similar devices; open the door, at least 1 meter wide (3 feet) stair platform. The width of the safety exit is more than 1.0 meters. 6. Anti-theft windows

7. Fire extinguisher

Internal inspections are performed once a month, and a qualified third party or fire department performs inspections once a year, and a label is posted; the distance from any place in the factory to the nearest fire extinguisher must not exceed 28 meters (75 feet / about 25 steps),

8. Emergency lights, fire hydrants, reservoirs

9. Sprinkler system

10. Chemicals

Chemical warehouses shall not be located in production workshops or offices and warehouses or under the stairs or on the roof. They must be independent areas of the factory (ventilation, static discharge equipment, anti-static fire extinguishing equipment, fire protection requirements, explosion-proof emergency lights, explosion-proof safety exit signs, Explosion-proof switch, suspended automatic dry powder fire extinguisher), the workshop only stores the amount of chemicals used on the day, and must not store too much in the workshop; all inflammable and explosive chemicals must be placed in a chemical warehouse that meets the requirements, and the storage volume for temporary use in the workshop Must not exceed 95 liters;
