FSC Australia Announces Call for Nominations for Responsible Forest Management of the Year Award

FSC Australia announced a call to submit the second annual Responsible Forest Management Award. The FSC Forest Certification Organization was invited to sponsor this prestigious award, which will be presented in Melbourne later this year.

Applicants can submit their nomination to FSC Australia before 9 am on September 7, 2009. The 2009 Responsible Forest Management Award will recognize and award honors to organizations that have become models of the spirit and willingness of the FSC system through their forest management practices and the promotion of FSC certification and FSC certification products.

The types of companies that can be nominated are as follows:

Large-area forest managers that year-for organizations that manage forests with an area of more than 10,000 hectares

Small-area forest managers in the year-for organizations that manage a forest area of up to 10,000 hectares

Large-scale chain-of-custody operators of production and sales that year-for chain-of-custody operators with an annual turnover of more than 10 million U.S. dollars per year

Small-scale chain of custody operators for the year-for chain of custody operators with an annual turnover of less than or equal to 10 million U.S. dollars per year

Retailers of the year-for retailers offering FSC certified products

Construction company/developer of the year-for builders using FSC certified products

Publishers/paper users of the year-for large-scale paper users using FSC certified paper and printers

FSC Australia will announce the winners at the second FSC Gala Dinner and Awards Night in Melbourne in October 2009; more details about this event will soon be available from FSC Australia.
