FSC Forest Operations (FM Forest Certification) certification is about certification of forests or plantations. It is expected that forest operators or owners who prove that their forestry activities are beneficial to society, and are handled in an environmentally suitable and economically feasible way can request forest operation certification.

    1. Resolution request. According to the FSC request, the owner of the forest decided to request certification of his operation activities and selected a trusted certification organization. Based on the information of the owner of the forest, the certification party can determine the expected value of success.

    2. Sign the contract. Request the authenticating party and the authenticated party to sign a contract. Develop comments on forest operations, forest operations certification processes, and courses before signing the contract. Sign a 5-year contract with our company.

    3. Pre-evaluation. Usually certified personnel conduct pre-assessment of forest operation activities. This enables certification personnel to understand the structure, management and environment of forest operations activities. Moreover, forest owners are more familiar with the requests of certified personnel. The purpose of the pre-evaluation is to learn more about the certified forest area from the forest manager before the main evaluation.     4. Hearing and handling documents. In order for the certification personnel to understand the characteristics of the complete forest plan and management process, the forest owner shall provide in advance the important documents required for the formal evaluation. This is the need for time-saving and useful formal evaluation.

    5. Formal evaluation. When the pre-evaluation fails to be dealt with, the company's on-site evaluation can be planned. Regarding countries that have established forest certification (FSC) standards, the standards have become the basis for evaluation. Regarding countries that have not yet drafted forest certification (FSC) specifications, the certification organization will use the agreed and adapted forest certification specifications. The foundation of forest certification is not the current state of the forest, but the quality of forest operations through continuous and regular monitoring. All activities during the evaluation period include: forest operation management basics, personnel and specific program documents, as well as discussions with relevant personnel. Then, comment on the results of the evaluation with the project leader. Based on the results of the evaluation, the certifier drafts a statement containing the claimed certification results or proposed amendments to overcome the lack.

    6. Re-evaluation. The certification statement will be re-evaluated by 2-3 independent recognized experts. They will evaluate the work and presentation of the certification organization, and submit the evaluation results to the certification resolution planning committee for final evaluation.

    7. Issuance and registration. Assuming that the above process gives an active evaluation result, the forest company will be issued a certificate of conformity. If necessary, it can attach conditions that must be satisfied before a certain time. It is necessary to strictly control the activities of shopping malls and forest certification marks using certification as registered trademarks.

    8. Check regularly. During the specified period (usually once/a year), in order to check whether the operation continues to meet the specifications, the certification personnel conduct a short-term and on-site forest operation inspection. The entire certification process will take several months. The timing depends primarily on the number of conditions that eliminate the lack of conditions. Pre-assessment usually takes 1-2 days. The formal evaluation will take 2-14 days, depending on the size of the company and the level of disorder. The process described above is only for forest operation certification and is only useful for the "forest" itself. For the production and sale of FSC-marked products using forest trees that have been certified for forest operation, the chain of custody certification is also required.
