BSCI factory audit operation guidelines process

1. Management methods

Appoint management representatives to supervise and implement the BSCI Code of Conduct and update relevant legal provisions

Factories need to establish a risk assessment mechanism for the on-site safety and health environment to prevent work-related accidents.

The factory needs to produce a written policy describing social responsibility, especially against child labor, female employees, discrimination, forced labor, working hours, compensation, health and social facilities, safety, freedom of association and collective bargaining.

The factory needs to make a written commitment to employees, stating that it will comply with BSCI social responsibility requirements and local legal requirements. The written commitment needs to be posted in the local language along with the BSCI Code of Conduct in a place visible to all employees or attached to each employment contract.

If any subcontractors need to conduct BSCI social responsibility audits and retain evidence

Documentary evidence

The factory needs to keep copies of ID cards of all employees as age files. The factory needs to sign labor contracts with all employees when hiring, and provide employees with a copy of the labor contract, including temporary workers.

Retain relevant information on job training, chemical use training, machine use training, BSCI training, firefighting training, etc.

The factory needs to conduct annual inspections on boilers, pressure vessels, elevators, forklifts, etc., qualification certificates (electricians, electric welders, furnace workers, etc.), and business licenses

Keep the employee's leave of absence and work injury certificate, and if there is no work injury, the conclusion should be noted on the report, once a month.

The factory needs to conduct water quality testing on drinking water, dormitories and workshops are done separately, once a year, and keep the cleaning records of the water machine

Select an appropriate number of employees to arrange first aid training and obtain relevant certificates. (It is recommended to go to the Red Cross for training) It is recommended that 100 people have at least 2 first-aiders

The factory needs to obtain a pollutant discharge permit. (That is, if the factory has exhaust gas, waste water, waste residue, etc., environmental assessment is required)

Normal working hours of employees are 40 hours/week, overtime work is 36 hours/month, overtime work does not exceed 12 hours per week, and daily overtime work does not exceed 3 hours

Overtime work on weekdays should be paid 150% of normal wages, overtime work on rest days should be paid 200% of normal wages, and overtime on statutory holidays should be paid 300% of normal wages.

Employees work for six consecutive days and need to provide one day off

The factory shall ensure that all employees use the work card or the get off work card within 15 minutes of the specified commuting time

3. Staff interviews

It is recommended that the company keep proper records of subcontractor suppliers and subsuppliers' commitment to social responsibility.

It is recommended that the factory establish a system to monitor whether the social responsibility performance of sub-contractor suppliers and sub-suppliers complies with the requirements of the SA8000 standard.
