SA8000 stands for "Social Accountability Standard", short for Social Accountability 8000, and is the world's first international standard of ethics. The purpose of FSC professional certification is to ensure that the products supplied by suppliers meet the requirements of social responsibility standards. SA8000 (Social Accountability 8000), which stipulates the responsibilities that enterprises must bear to society and stakeholders, and specifies lower requirements on specific issues such as working environment, employee health and safety, employee training, remuneration, and union rights, such as prohibition Employment of child labor and gender or racial discrimination must be eliminated. SA8000 also has management system and continuous improvement requirements. There is a set of international standards audited by a third-party inspection agency, but SA8000 has only one international unified inspection agency: SAI (Social Accountability International), that is, Social Accountability International.
The SA8000 standard is mainly derived from the International Labour Organization conventions, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. It was developed with the Western corporate social responsibility movement that originated in the late 20th century. In December 2001, SAI released a revised version of di: "SA8000:2001". At present, to join the global industrial chain of multinational companies, most of them must pass the SA8000 factory inspection or the company's social responsibility audit conducted in accordance with SA8000. The SA8000 standard is a universal standard, not only applicable to developing countries, but also applicable to developed countries; not only applicable to all types of industrial and commercial enterprises, but also suitable for public institutions.
