MSC standards and certification requirements:

     MSC has developed a series of sustainable fisheries and seafood sustainability standards. Ensure that all seafood using the MSC label comes from and can be traced back to certified sustainable fisheries. MSC's standards and certification requirements meet the global best practice guidelines for certification and eco-labelling programs.

  The MSC standard is intended to be used for the chain of custody certification of fish and aquatic products that originate from fishing vessels that have passed the "MSC Principles and Measurements of Sustainable Fisheries" or other standards determined by the MSC. All organizations applying for MSC Chain of Custody certification must follow this standard.

  In order to achieve the purpose of the chain of custody of production and sales, a traceability system and an isolation system are required to track the entire trace of the product from the supplier to the buyer. MSC encourages all organizations to adopt and maintain appropriate food safety and quality plans based on the national standard model.

 MSC is one of the new standard series of ASC sustainable agriculture, MSC sustainable fishery and RSPO sustainable palm oil, which are gradually introduced after FSC launched the forest certification standard;

 To obtain the FSC certification and the right to use the FSC logo, the management and operation of the organization must initially meet all applicable FSC requirements. The provisions of the FSC system are implemented in the global forests, and this is how FSC exerts a positive influence. At the FSC International Center, there is an expert group to coordinate the formulation, review and improvement of FSC systems and procedures. FSC standards are higher social and environmental requirements of the forestry sector, which have been proven to be effective on all continents, different forest types, various scales and ownership. The FSC standard formulation procedures are transparent and democratic, and provide opportunities for the interested public to participate. It is this procedure that makes FSC a recognized important forum, and through the support of stakeholders interested in forestry issues, many innovative solutions have been achieved. FSC is a forestry certification system accredited by the International Society and Environmental Identification Labeling Alliance ISEAL, which follows standards and develops better methods. The more significant feature of forest certification is voluntary, which is different from the laws and regulations formulated by the country, and some compulsory certifications, such as: CCC, ICTI, ETI, etc. Laws and regulations must be observed and implemented by every citizen, and FSC certification is done voluntarily after the unit or individual that requires certification recognizes the necessity of FSC forest certification. Secondly, forest certification is market-based. With the improvement of people's environmental awareness, consumers are more and more willing to buy certified wood products. Compared with uncertified products, certified wood products are more commercially competitive, which is the motivation to promote forest owners to voluntarily carry out forest certification. In addition, forest certification has the characteristics of independence, impartiality, transparency, and reliability. FSC Chain of Custody (CoC) certification tracks FSC-certified materials through the entire process from the production process to the sales department. FSC products can contain some or a certain proportion of materials that are not fully certified. Due to the lack of sufficient supply of FSC raw materials, PEFC certification and some products have not yet been included in the FSC category, so there is a need to allow the inclusion of uncertified materials. The FSC chain of custody tracks FSC-certified materials through the production process-from the forest to the consumer, that is, the entire continuous stage of processing, conversion, manufacturing and sales. Only products that comply with the FSC chain of custody certification requirements can bear the FSC trademark. Therefore, the FSC label establishes a link between responsible production and consumption, so that consumers can make environmentally and socially responsible purchasing decisions. CARB certification In areas where environmental awareness is growing, FSC's chain of custody certification helps your company improve market access. It shows that you take the environmental concerns of customers and employees seriously. In addition, the production and marketing chain of custody certification can prove that you have followed public or private procurement policies and some regulations, such as the EU furniture eco-labeling scheme, or the US green energy and environmental building certification system. The five steps of FSC certification 1. Contact one or more FSC-accredited certification bodies. The certification body needs some basic information about your organization in order to make a preliminary estimate of the required certification cost and time. The BSCI certification certification body will provide you with information about the FSC certification requirements; 2. Select a certification body to cooperate with and sign an agreement with it; 3. Carry out a certification audit to evaluate the certification conditions of your company; 4. Collect during the audit process Data is the basis of the audit report, and the certification body makes certification decisions based on this report; 5. If the certification decision is affirmative, you will get the FSC certificate. If the audit reveals that your organization has not fully met the FSC requirements, the certification body will conduct a further audit on your organization after completing the proposed amendments to the certification report. The validity period of the FSC certificate is five years. However, the FSC-accredited certification body will conduct annual surveillance audits to verify whether your organization has been complying with the FSC certification requirements. Organic certification regularly updates the certificate information issued by its accredited certification body. Since the issuance of an FSC certificate in 1993, it has grown rapidly.
